Katrina
Katrina grew up in northern New Jersey. She attended Wagner College and graduated with a BS in Mathematics with minors in both Philosophy and Physics. She then went on to get an MS in Applied Mathematics from NJIT and did research in detonation and combustion physics. While attending NJIT, she started substitute teaching and online tutoring. In 2015, she moved to Chicago and worked part time for a tutoring company, helping middle school kids with class work, high school kids with test prep, and college students with a range of classes. In addition to tutoring in the evenings, she worked for Starbucks and substitute taught. A common joke among the part time tutors was that they would love life if they could make tutoring a full time job. Well, it happened for Katrina. Missing the ocean and fast pace of the East Coast, she returned to New Jersey in the summer of 2017, and a couple months later was hired by Foley Prep. When not tutoring, Katrina can be found playing video games, educating people about coffee, going on bike rides, and playing board games with friends.
