The GRE® (Graduate Record Examination) is required for admission to Master's and Doctoral programs in the United States. In recent years, certain law and business schools have begun accepting the GRE® as a replacement for the LSAT® and GMAT™. The GRE® is a computer-adaptive test with three main sections:
60 minutes • 2 essays on analyzing issues and arguments
70 minutes • 40 questions on math concepts and problem solving
70 minutes • 40 questions on reading and grammar
Nearly daily test dates year-round • Max 5 tests/year • 21-day waiting period
Test at least 3 months before application deadline for retake flexibility
