What sections does the GRE® cover?

The GRE® has three measures: Verbal Reasoning (reading comprehension and vocabulary in context), Quantitative Reasoning (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data analysis), and Analytical Writing (an essay analyzing an issue). Our tutors build a plan around the sections you need most.

Is GRE® tutoring 1-on-1 or group?

GRE® prep is almost always 1-on-1 with an expert tutor. Graduate applicants have very different score targets and section needs, so personalized sessions are far more effective than a one-size-fits-all class.

Can I prep for the GRE® online or in person?

Both. Foley Prep offers GRE® tutoring at 7 New Jersey locations and fully online, so you can prep around your job, classes, or commute. Contact us to find the option that fits your schedule.

When should I start preparing for the GRE®?

We recommend testing at least three months before your application deadline so you have room to retake if you want a higher score. Starting prep two to three months before your planned test date is a common timeline.

Do schools other than grad programs accept the GRE®?

Yes. The GRE® is required by many Master's and Doctoral programs, and a growing number of business and law schools now accept it as an alternative to the GMAT or LSAT. Always check each program's specific requirements.

Is GRE® tutoring eligible for 529 education savings plans?
